The young Italian artist F1avio debuts on Animal Farm Records with a three-track EP; ’Octagon’. Still relatively new to the scene, F1avio exhibits a maturity in his productions that extends far beyond his years. Marrying influences from the Berlin school of hypnotism as well as older elements of Detroit techno, F1avio crafts a deep sonic palette that is still distinctly Italian.

Opener ‘Global Interaction’ is a strong textural work in the vein of Shifted et al., combining heady atmospherics & tight percussion with leering dystopian overtones - bound to inflict mind damage on the ‘floor. ‘Inverted Commas’ is a stripped back exercise in restraint. Impeccably crafted low end allows the ultra minimal melodics to occupy the centre, panning hypnotically in a moment of impressive sound design.

Title track ‘Octagon’ is the most driving effort here, with a frenetic kick that is still quite dry - allowing the other elements to slowly creep into the mix and build into an immensely satisfying peak time climax.
